Good Grooming Habits Are A Must
There are a lot of folks who think getting a pup groomed is for "beauty" purposes only. Granted, when a pup gets a bubble bath, trim and a good comb out, they look fabulous and adorable. Their coat is shiny and they smell amazingly clean. However, grooming goes beyond that.
There are many reasons why you need to have your dog groomed regularly. It prevents matting, removes dirt and tangles, keeps your pup cool during the summer months, allows you to spot injuries like cuts and puntures, and guards your dog against weather elements.
Although grooming is important year round, it's especially crucial during the warm weather months. Yes, that means now. With flea and tick season here, grooming and daily maintenance is at the top of the list for spotting these buggers. Ticks latch onto their skin and fleas hide out in hot spots and the only way to detect these is to look beneath their fur.
