Happy New Year From K9 1-ON-1

What a year it's been! This time last year, opening up our own shop was something we only talked about and most conversations ended with, "Someday..."  A year later, lots of hard work, a world of support from family and friends and look...we're here!

We want to wish all of you a very safe and Happy New Year and a huge thank you to everyone who has made K9 1-ON-1 possible!

An Afternoon Of Socialization

One of the many things we enjoy at the K9 1-ON-1 shop is some time outside with the sweet pups during socialization. It's loads of fun for the fur babies and us "hoomans."  This time around it was Dex, Theia, Stella and Lily. In the mix is Jessy, Lavender and Tres-belle. It was a fun afternoon had by all!

We Offer Alternative Options For Your Pets

Now that the doors are officially opened at K9 1-ON-1, we wanted to remind everyone that in addition to our regular services, we also offer alternative options for your pets. This includes Reiki and massage. These services are beneficial for all pets however, they can be especially helpful for senior dogs.

Fresh Baked Carob Chip Cookies For Fido

Like us "hoomans" dogs love cookies. We're sure most of us are guilty of giving our fur baby a piece or two of a fresh baked peanut butter or sugar cookie. However, when the chocolate chip cookies come out of the oven, we have to contend with the guilt of saying no...as chocolate is deadly to dogs. We're happy to say, there is a solution!

A Little Assistance From The Fur Babies...

There is still work to be done at the K9 1-ON-1 Shop and we are working diligently to get the last of it complete along with the final touches. Us "hoomans" can't take all the credit. At times, the fur babies step forth and offer their assistance...and kisses.

An Instant Bond With Maggie

You could say there was an instant bond with Maggie and what a sweet girl she is!  From the moment she stepped foot in the tub, it was obvious she enjoyed the warm water, a gentle scrub down, and playing in the bubbles. Within minutes, she was relaxed and let us know just how much she loved her spa treatment.

Spa Treatment For Molly

For the first few seconds, Molly didn't know what to think of the big tub and lots of bubbles however, once she experienced the tranquil ambiance of it all...that was it. It was love at first scrub. Molly was curious about everything going on around her and kept her gorgeous eyes on us...as you can see here in the picture.

Say Hi To Toby

Toby paid us a visit and he was an absolute joy!  What a funny boy he is and full of life and character. And here's another, "look at that face!"  Although he wanted to run around and play, he did rest a bit for a photo or two. Good boy, Toby!

Meet Sweet Daisy

This sweet girl, Daisy, got the works last week and she's a beauty! Look at that face! Daisy was an absolute pleasure and enjoyed her time in the tub while we lathered her up. It was obvious the gentle massage during bath time soothed her muscles because she was very relaxed on the grooming table. You look fabulous, Daisy!

Buddy Wags Gets The Royal Treatment

Business is in full swing here at K9 1-ON-1!  Today, we were surrounded by a bunch of sweet fur babies. In this pic, we're giving Buddy the royal treatment (as we do with every pup that walks through our doors). He was named after one of the Air Buddy movies. Most call him Buddy Wags as his tail is always wagging.

Vacation Management Service Red Flags

Although we'd love to take our fur baby on vacation with us, at times, it's not always possible for various reasons. You've thought about boarding options, but you'd prefer leaving your fur baby in the comfort of their own home. What does that mean for you? You need to find a reputable and trustworthy vacation management specialists to take care of your fur baby while you're gone.

This is a big deal. Not only will you have someone coming into your home, they will be responsible for the care and well being of your fur baby. That requires a lot of trust to be established in a relatively short period of time.

Thank You Sharon For The Kind Words

Did we ever mention how much we enjoy getting feedback? It's true. When folks reach out with kind words, letters of gratitude and to let us know how much their pup enjoyed their time at K9 1-ON-1, it makes our day.

Your Pup Might Appreciate Fruitcake Even If You Don't

We've all heard the endless jokes about fruitcake as the Christmas season approaches. In fact, in some states, there are fruitcake events after the holiday so you can get rid of the unwanted stash. There's fruitcake toss, sling shots specifically designed for fruitcakes and a slew of other hilarious activities.

Is Your Christmas Tree Pet Safe?

For those who celebrate the joyous Christmas season, it's safe to say the trees are up and decorated with lights, candy canes, tinsel, ornaments and garland. Like with other holiday décor, it's important to keep your pup's safety in mind when putting up the Christmas tree.

Taking Your Fur Baby On A Flight? Read This First...

We usually try to keep things upbeat on the site with funny pictures, the ultimate in comical dog shaming, tips and advice, etc. This time around, with heavy hearts, we're presenting a story that is anything but pleasant to read. There wasn't a dry eye after reading about this tragedy however, it's speaks of a devastating event that could have been prevented. For that, we feel it should be shared especially with Holiday travel plans approaching.

A Simple DIY Sweet Treat For The Pups

Most of us have a sweet tooth. We enjoy our sweet, decadent desserts every now and then, right? We're human. At times nothing is more comforting than biting into a warm chocolate chip cookie or fresh baked brownie. Mouth watering yet?

Baked Egg Cups For The Next Sunday Brunch

Eggs are packed with protein and a great way to enhance your fur babies meals a few times a week. Most dogs find eggs to be paw lickin' good and enjoy the occasional scrambled eggs with bacon. If you're looking for a scrumptious recipe to serve your pup at the next big Sunday brunch, look no further.

Holiday Dazzle Light Parade Pictures

Last week, we got into the holiday spirit and decorated our trailer to participate in the 2013 Holiday Dazzle Light Parade in Putnam. We stuffed bags with goodies, found some festive attire for the sweet pups, gathered the crew and went on our way!  We took lots of pictures...these are our favorite.  Enjoy!

Make Your Own Pill Pockets

If you've ever had to give your fur baby a pill or capsule, you're aware of the many challenges behind this. Our furbabies aren't fooled by "liver flavored" pills. There are some tried and true methods, however, your sweet pup can still sniff out that "foreign object." We've witnessed some dogs who have eaten the disguise and seconds later, spit out the pill.
